Over its 21-year history under Steve Garr, The Top Hat was the only venue in Missoula that –excluding karaoke bars – had live music at least five days a week, and often every night. The bands played during the week, were usually paid a percentage of the till, which depending on the evening’s crowd, could mean a handful of change for musicians. Old memorabilia including historical photographs of Front Street businesses, license plates form all across the country, farm implements, artwork, and Garr’s softball trophies fills the walls.

The Top Hat remains as one of the last best music venues in Missoula featuring top of the line sound system and atmosphere that attracts local, regional and National talents to its stage. The Top Hat has long been home to Missoula’s best talents featuring a wide variety of music form night to night.
